Nearest city: Huairou, Beijing

  • By bus: take bus 916 Express from Dongzhimen to Huairou, then bus H58 or H11 to Jiugukou, about 100 m from the resort.
  • By car: the resort is in Hefangkou Village, Huaibei Town, north of Huairou; navigate to Huaibei International Ski Resort.

Where to stay

The resort has Finnish-style log cabins; alternatively stay in Huairou town or around Yanqi Lake and visit the Mutianyu Great Wall the next day.

Highlights

  • Ming-dynasty Great Wall sections surround the resort on three sides, and you can see them from the lift.
  • An eight-seat high-speed gondola reaches the top in about 3 minutes, so you spend less time waiting and more time skiing.
  • Seven of its 11 runs are intermediate, with a maximum vertical drop of 180 m, ideal for skiers building their skills.

Tips

  • There are only two beginner runs, so complete beginners should start with a lesson.
  • Early in the season only day sessions run and night skiing opens later, so check the official WeChat account before planning an evening session.
