Getting there

Nearest city: Yanqing, Beijing

  • By car: about 70 km from central Beijing via the Beijing–Tibet Expressway to Zhangshanying, Yanqing.
  • Direct bus: in season, resort buses run from central Beijing; book at least a day ahead.

Where to stay

Most visitors make it a day trip; for a longer stay, base yourself in Yanqing town or book one of the ski-and-stay packages with nearby resort hotels.

Highlights

  • Opened in 1999 as one of China's first resorts with artificial snowmaking; all 10 runs face the sun, so it feels less cold.
  • Five beginner runs, a dedicated teaching area and an adaptive skiing zone make it friendly for newcomers and families.
  • The advanced run drops 300 m, and there is also a slalom training course and a terrain park.

Tips

  • The sunny slopes melt quickly late in the season, so the advanced run and terrain park may close before the rest of the resort.
  • Night skiing starts partway through the season, so check it is running before you plan an evening session.
